How Fyffe Design Transformed a Triangular Block into a Stunning Modern Home

This modern home is a true reflection of Fyffe Design’s commitment to creating personalised and innovative living spaces. Positioned on a unique triangular block with a sloping rear, this project offered exciting design challenges that our team approached with creativity and expertise. By thoughtfully embracing the site’s natural topography, we developed a design that maximises every square metre while blending harmoniously with its surroundings.

The contemporary split-level design brings versatility and charm, showcasing Fyffe Design’s passion for delivering stylish, functional, and comfortable spaces that elevate everyday living.

The home design allows for the maximisation of spatial dimensions, harmoniously blending with the surrounding nature. The uneven ground makes this home very tricky to design. We eventually opted for a contemporary split-level design to make the most of every square metre.

Split-level homes provide much versatility for design layout. North-facing, the facade design block offers flexibility to improve orientation and flow, including windows, balconies and voids for maximum natural light and temperature control all year round. This orientation keeps the home cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making it great for living areas with added comfort and energy efficiency.

The modern two-storey element boasts a grand, voided formal lounge area with a fireplace and staircase overlooking the pool area. This area maximises functionality and floor space for quality family time or entertainment.

Split levels add curb appeal, charm and personality to the home. Distributed across three-floor zones to the ground floor. The first is the garage at the top floor then stepping down to the main living and formal lounge, providing dedicated space for different uses.

The ground floor features an expansive main living area that opens onto an alfresco area and a feature garden, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. The split-level design provides additional space for utility rooms such as scullery, laundry or mud that flows onto either side of the kitchen. Apart from the study room at the front, the ground floor features a powder room, a cellar and a main formal lounge, set next to a private guest wing that boasts a separate space from the main living quarters.

Strategically designed for additional privacy, the first floor features two bedrooms, a princess suite and a north-facing grand master suite with a private balcony. Away from the common area, the first floor provides spaces to relax and unwind and promotes restful sleep.

Upstairs, an additional sitting area at the top of the stair landing serves as a child-friendly breakout area for the little ones. The sitting enclave is next to the large void, allowing optimal solar access to create a designated cosy zone for the ultimate lazy weekend.
